"Lovely family friendly park not too big. Nice facilities. Slightly remote but nearby village had local shops and very pretty setting."

INTRODUCING VAL DE BONNAL

The spacious grounds of this former water mill link up with a series of fun-for-all lakes in one of France's most green and pleasant regions. Aquatic adventures will be divided between the water park with water slides and the swimming lake and beach. Canoeing is another popular pursuit whilst on dry land cycling and hiking enthusiasts will find a multitude of trails. Overall we thought that Val de Bonnal is a great site. However whilst the on site staff proved to be very helpful during a crisis following our 7 year olds fall from her bike, they equally let themselves down during the last week of our stay. Snack bar opening times were reduced in our last week as the site was winding down from the season. In my opinion our stay coincided with the peak season so I was astounded to see that the site was closing down and we had no prior knowledge through Al Fresco that this would be the case. We were told the site closed on 5th September, not the week before.

Pool is not suitable for adults, very child focussed but swimming lake is wonderful. No entertainment on in June so couldn't give a score

the park was beautiful, well maintained and the reps were fantastic. however there was absolutely no health and safety. kids were running up the slides in the park, fires were lit on the grass and parties went on until the early hours (despite there being security) this was the only problem

We were there for a week from 17 June. The park was clean, well organised and only about 1/3 full. So nice and quiet. Not sure what it would be like full of children. Noisy, I would guess but what park would not be in high season.

Didn't use the pool facilities although they looked good for the children. The adjacent swimming lake looked a treat and very inviting. As we were early in the season, the activities, entertainment and general opening of the communal areas were not really up and running. The caravan was on the small side but apart from sleeping and cooking inside, we spend the whole of the time outside on the deck.

Downham Market
We visited the park when the season was just starting it was very quiet and peaceful. Not all the facilities were open when we first arrived, the shop was but take away, pool opened for second week, was not that important to us as we liked the tranquillity. There were only a very few people on the site, I should imagine it is a very bustling site in high season.
