INTRODUCING MARINA D'ERBA ROSSA

A palm fringed swimming pool only a step away from its own sandy beach or the welcoming waters of the Mediterranean sea. Corsica is nicknamed 'the island of the beauty' and at this park you have all you need to appreciate the splendour of this holiday haven.

With its luxuriant Mediterranean vegetation and dramatic mountain views competing with the sea for your attention, this park is a paradise for the senses. But there's much to keep the energetic occupied too with an enthusiastic animation team organising games and excursions both on park and off.

Be sure to find time to visit Bonifacio with its amazing harbour and old town. With Al Fresco you'll stay in Corsica's most modern mobile home, the Rossini Riviera Suite.

We loved the park but the pool was small for the number of holidaymakers. There was a smell of sewage on the site and the kids club was not suitable for non French speaking children. The rep Christine is a fantastic asset thanks to her!

Good park, everything you need. Pool parks and beach. Supermarket on site much more expensive than spar down the road or leclec in the town.
Entertainment/animation team are good with kids but not very good in evening entertainment by comparison to other campsites in France. Restaurants nice but expensive... Yet all of Corsica is fairly expensive so probably on par with that.
Staff nice freindly. I'd go back but you definitely need a car to visit all the beautiful places that are all about 1hr plus from this site.
Traffic was terrible on the one rd in and out of coastline.

Only booked this for final couple of nights as Sole di Sari was full. Not my kind of site and in my opinion not the best part of the island by a long way. Lots of sports facilities which my son loved, but was a bit like a French butlins or similar and was an assault on the senses after the blissful, peaceful experience at Sole di Sari. We knew it wouldn’t be our cup of tea though so we weren’t disappointed! It was just as we expected it to be: busy, crowded, noisy and very French.

This was our first European camp holiday. It was okay, but I don't think I'd do it again.

I visited Corsica 10+ years ago and stayed on the West coast, which has the most incredible beaches. I was disappointed when we saw the one here as it is nothing like the ones on the other side of the island. Obviously that's not the camp's fault, but I just wanted to warn fellow guests not to expect the clear, calm, shallow sea. Apparently the beach at Porto Vecchio, about 1.5 hours away, is very nice, but we didn't get chance to go.

The site itself felt quite clean but didn't feel very warm or welcoming. There was nobody to greet us when we arrived. We knew check-in wasn't until 4pm, but we thought that was just for the actual caravan. We expected there to be someone there to at least give us a wristband or let us use the facilities or even just say 'hi, you're at the right place'. We found kittens hiding under a car and eventually found a public toilet to change in and headed to the beach for a couple of hours.

If you're arriving on a Sunday, be warned that the on-site shop is closed all day and the restaurant doesn't open until 7pm. The hypermarket in the main town was closed too, so if you do arrive on a Sunday, get your essentials at the Spar just up the road.

Daytime entertainment was non-existent, except for a couple of short aquarobic sessions in the pool. Evening entertainment started at 8.45pm with a mini disco. The kid's entertainers were amazing and my kids loved the mini disco but it only lasted 15 mins. We stayed for the first bits of a a couple of the adult entertainments and they were just okay - bit racist though, as we and the other British families were totally ignored during the quiz night.

The caravan was adequate - well equipped and felt fairly private. The caravans are dotted about at angles in amongst trees and foliage, which I find much nicer than the caravan sites we have in the UK where they're in rows. The beds though, ugh! They were so solid that I'm not sure why they bothered. It would probably be more comfortable on the floor. The provided pillow was barely worth having either, it was so thin. The safety inspection at the end is ridiculous. The rep even took the dishwasher filter out to check it was clean. I don't think they send cleaners in at all, so you really do have to leave it spotless. There was a grain of sand in the shower and so the rep tried to tell me it wasn't clean. When I pointed out it was difficult to clean because the shower head sprayed out of the sides, rather than down, she relented and finally returned my 60 Euro deposit (which was a bit useless then, as we were leaving and had no chance to spend it).

The pizza restaurant was AMAZING! And the staff there were actually friendly too, which was a very welcome relief. Best pizza I've had in years. The snack bar food isn't as good and the cocktails at the bar are a bit hit and miss. The shop sells fresh pastries in the morning, which are yummy. It's reasonably stocked but not huge and the opening times were a bit odd. The gift shop that sold sundries was only open for 2 hours in the morning. There's a Spar about a 1km away and a larger hypermarket in the nearest town.

The pool was a bit dull - no slides or anything, but inflatables are allowed. It would probably feel very small in peak season, as it felt quite full even during our off-peak week. There's no shade but there were enough loungers when we were there, which was nice as we never had to get there early to claim one. We also found the pool to be very clean. We'd been concerned by other reviews saying it was filthy. We found it spotless, so were pleasantly surprised. The playgrounds were great too and we heard someone say the kid's morning club was good, but our kids didn't want to go so we didn't try it ourselves.

The drive from Bastia airport was easy - just a straight road along the coast. Took us just over an hour.

Word of warning: If it rains, there is NOTHING to do on the whole island :p

Overall, we had a fairly good week here. I think it would make a great base to explore Corsica, but we had planned a week of relaxation where we just wanted to stay at a camp. There was just enough to keep us all entertained for the week, but only because my kids LOVE swimming and were happy to be in the pool the whole time.
