At the southern end of the Venetian lagoon lies Lido di Pomposa amongst a coastal strip of resorts with fine beaches and a laid back holiday atmosphere. Enjoy lazy days at the pool or the beach, there are playgrounds and a five a side football pitch for an energy burst when the time comes. Venice's glory is within striking distance but regional delights like Ravenna, San Marino and the Po River delta are closer attractions for an alternative but authentic Italian adventure.

We loved the park! Mainly because of the swimming pools and close proximity to the beach. Also, it's location allowed us to do a lot of day trips and explore the area.

My son cut his skin on toe off quite badly, somewhere in the pool. My guess is the draining strips system surrounding the pool.

N Ireland
Very noisy around the Al Fresco mobiles between bins being filled throughout the night and cleaning staff working on the shower blocks at 4:30am every morning. Only campsite ever been on were security do not enforce quiet time during midnight and 7am. Security never at gate from beach, not even at night time. Parking is ridiculously tight at each Al Fresco mobile other tour operators have lovely maintained streets with ample parking. Pool and beach are lovely although tiles around the deep pool need replaced as they were badly broken/loose. Level of English spoken on park is excellent and campsite own staff friendly. Restaurant was just ok and they could do with having a separate bar area. Supermarket on site although small had a good range and prices were not too bad.

This was our 3rd Al Fresco holiday.
The restaurant food was truly awful, and the worst thing about the resort - totally unexpected for Italy. Our previous 2 holidays resorts with Al Fresco in Lake Garda, had excellent food and wonderful attentive waiters - so our expectations were high. A great family restaurant can make a resort, especially as Italian food is normally fantastic. Vigna Sul Mar ice cream and juice bars were good. Shop food was uninspiring, lack of fresh fish and meat.
Beach facilities:
The first few days we weren't charged but suddenly on Thursday 1st June, although the beach beds were 95% empty the beach attendant refused to let us use them, referring us back to Al Fresco staff, who we couldn't locate. Having to pay exorbitant prices on the beach for beds and umbrellas was unacceptable, even with discount. Arrangements for beach umbrellas and bed hire was not mentioned in the info pack at the accommodation, and we wasted an afternoon trying to track down staff to find out what the rules were and get the discount card, which in the end we didn't use because of the ridiculous prices. The Al Fresco phone number wasn't working and texts weren't deliverable, (although the Al Fresco staff, Martina and Melania were lovely), so after leaving a message at the main office and writing a note, we gave up and went to the pool instead.
Loud repetitive pop music every night until 11 was inescapable, even in the accommodation and our teenagers hated it (although they love music). One day it was even on in the afternoon. Why oh why can't the sound be contained better so that those who want it can enjoy it and those who don't can escape? We wanted a chilled out holiday by the sea listening to the sounds of nature. If we wanted incessant club music, we would have gone to Ibiza!
Great pools and lovely staff but there should have been more pools and more spaced apart, especially as the beach facilities are too expensive to use. Water slides were ridiculously slow, and not available until June 2nd.

Hi Vivienne, thank you for your review.
We're sorry to see that you were disappointed with the on site restaurant and entertainment, we want our customers to have an enjoyable stay. We do appreciate feedback and use it to improve our service. Some Italian beaches do charge for the use of sunbeds and parasols but it's a shame that you couldn't get in contact with the representative to ask for more information at the time. Thanks again, Deborah
