WOMEN'S WORLD CUP FRANCE 2019
It’s not just the best travel companies that come from Bury, Lancashire (*cough* Al Fresco) the best international football managers do as well. Bury’s own Phil Neville will be at the helm of the England team at the Women’s World Cup 2019, which is being held in neighbouring France - which is also home to some of our great holiday parks.
Thanks to the location of the stadia the home nations are playing in, you can stay at fantastic Al Fresco holiday parks and enjoy all the relaxing facilities, whilst being close to the games.
England are in group D with matches against Scotland, Argentina and Japan in the first part of the tournament. The World Cup has come at a great time for Phil Neville’s team, having beaten Japan by three goals to win the SheBelieves Cup earlier this year. Meeting the same side in the group matches will hold no fear (despite being their highest ranked opponents) for the Lionesses.
England were Scotland’s opposition in their first official international in 1972 – 100 years after the same sides contested the first ever men's international football match – winning 3-2 on that occasion and 6-0 the most recent time the two sides met in 2017. But it is Scotland’s first appearance at a Women’s World Cup and playing a country they know so well, you never know what might happen?
Argentina are the lowest ranked team in the group and England and Scotland should be able to chalk up wins against the South American side.
As one of the favourites to win, now is a great time to be part of the experience of England winning a World Cup – and you can enjoy a relaxing holiday at the same time!
